Mark Pickles

Vicar of St Andrews & Emmanuel

Mark, originally from Birkenhead, became a Christian as a teenager and was ordained in the Chester Diocese. He served as an incumbent in Wharton, Winsford where he met and married Diane. They later moved to Duffield, Derbyshire for 14 years and then London for Mark to teach at Oak Hill College. In 2017, Mark became Director of Training for the North West Gospel Partnership. They have three children, Ainsley, Jake, and Reuben.

Peter Selby

Minister of St Andrews

Rev. Peter Selby is a long-time member of St. Andrews and recently ordained as a Minister in Secular Employment. He serves in the ministry team at St. Andrews and brings the message of Jesus to the hospital where he works as a consultant. He is also a father of three grown-up children and worships with his wife at St. Andrews.

Aled Seago

Associate Minister of Emmanuel

Aled joined Emmanuel in 2023, following an incumbency in Dunham Massey. He trained for ministry at Oak Hill college and was ordained in 2018 serving his curacy at St George’s Poynton. He and his wife Jo, a published author, met at university and got married soon after graduation. They own a friendly cross-breed dog called Chewie (as in Star Wars) and are really excited to get stuck in serving alongside the church family here at Emmanuel.

Peter Budd

Lay Reader (Lay Preacher)

Peter Budd was born in 1957 in Asmara, Eritrea, and committed his life to Jesus as a child. He met his wife Alma at Manchester University and they married in 1982. He is now a Professor of Polymer Chemistry and conducts research on developing novel materials for industrial and medical applications. He has been attending St. Andrew’s with his wife since 1990, and was licensed as a Reader in 2003.

Geoff Cooke

Lay Reader (Lay Preacher)

Geoff Cooke is a professional gardener who is also passionate about spiritual growth and understanding. He was licensed as a Reader in 2019 and has previously served in teaching roles in other churches. He has also completed a PhD on aspects of Calvin’s theology.

Gill Pennells

Church Administrator

Gill Pennells was raised in Chelmsford, Essex and her faith began to make sense to her at the age of 15. After studying art in Norwich, she had a formative year at Lee Abbey, a Christian holiday and conference center in North Devon, where she met her husband Steve. She has worked in typesetting in Surrey and Manchester and has two sons.

Fiona Beck

Children & Families Worker

Fiona is responsible for Children’s and Families work at St. Andrews. She is originally from Glasgow, Scotland, met her husband Dave on a Beach Mission in the Isle of Man, and they have been married since 2000. They have two teenage children.
