Our Team
Rev Peter Selby has been a member of St Andrews for many years where he has worshipped with his wife and three children who have now all grown up He has recently been ordained as a Minister in Secular employment. This means that in as well as helping in the ministry team at St Andrews. Peter also takes the good news of Jesus and His Kingdom to the hospital where he works as a consultant.
Peter Budd was born in 1957 in Asmara, Eritrea. His parents worked for the Red Sea Mission Team (now called Reach Across) and it was as a child that he committed his own life to Jesus. It was at Manchester University that he met Alma, and they were married in 1982. He is now Professor of Polymer Chemistry and his research group develops novel materials for a variety of industrial and medical applications. Peter and Alma have been attending St. Andrew's since 1990, and he was licensed as a Reader in 2003.
Geoff Cooke is a professional gardener with a passion for spiritual growth and understanding. He was licensed here as a Reader in 2019. He has served in teaching roles in several other churches prior to coming to St Andrew's and has completed a PhD on aspects of Calvin's theology.
Gill Pennells was born in Chelmsford, Essex and was brought up to go to church from an early age. The Christian faith began to make sense to her at about 15 years old as she got more involved with the small local church. After art school in Norwich she had a formative year at Lee Abbey, a Christian holiday and conference centre on the wonderful North Devon coast. There she met her future husband, Steve who worked in the gardens. As Administrator's secretary at Lee Abbey, she then worked in typesetting in Surrey and later Manchester. Steve and Gill have two sons. Gill can be contacted in the church office on 0161 485 2648. Fiona is responsible for the Children's and Families work at St Andrews. Fiona comes originally from Glasgow, Scotland. She met her husband, Dave, whilst serving on a Beach Mission in the Isle of Man and they were married in 2000. They have 2 teenage children.
